The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways lays foundation stone for a new multimodal logistics park at Sindi Railway, Wardha district. The initiative aims to bolster international trade and generate employment opportunities across various sectors in Vidarbha.
At the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the project, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed that the Multimodal Logistics Park at Sindi Railway in Wardha district would offer new possibilities for international trade and job creation in Vidarbha.
The upcoming 150-acre facility, being developed by National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a special purpose vehicle of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), in conjunction with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), will be situated near Sindi Railway station. AMARA TRANZ Solution is tasked with the project’s construction.
Gadkari underscored that this logistics park would enable local agricultural and industrial goods to reach foreign markets more effectively via the Jawaharlal Nehru Port. The facility aims to expedite exports of cotton, cotton lint, yarn, oranges, and vegetables from Vidarbha to international destinations.
Besides boosting trade, the logistics park is anticipated to streamline freight movement efficiency along the Mumbai-Colombo-Dhaka route. The project's implementation is also expected to fortify Vidarbha’s logistics network, grant better access to international markets for local producers, and foster employment opportunities in transportation, warehousing, and related services.
