Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha's name has been included in the draft voter list of Delhi, days after it was reportedly deleted from the Punjab draft list. The Aam Aadmi Party alleges that Chadha illegally registered as a voter in Delhi.
After Bharatiya Janata Party leader Raghav Chadha claimed his name was deleted from the draft voter list prepared during the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Punjab, The Indian Express reported that Chadha's name was included in the draft rolls in Delhi. This development comes amid allegations by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that Chadha had illegally registered himself as a voter in Delhi's Rajinder Nagar assembly constituency.
According to ANI, AAP National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda claimed that Chadha’s name was added to the Delhi draft electoral roll in a ‘backdoor manner’, with his name appearing as the 747th entry later, despite the original roll released on August 31 showing 746 names.
Responding to these allegations, Chadha said he had complied with all applicable Election Commission guidelines and procedures and availed of the remedies prescribed under the law. He described the allegations as ‘frivolous’ and accused the AAP leadership of targeting him since he left the party in April to join the BJP.
