The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a special foreign exchange swap facility for FCNR(B) deposits, external commercial borrowings (ECB), and overseas corporate bonds (OFCB) inflows. As of August 21, 2026, the reported details of these forex inflows have been shared by authorized dealer banks.
On June 8, 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) introduced a special USD-INR Forex Swap facility covering FCNR(B) deposits, ECB, and OFCB inflows. According to the press release issued by RBI on August 14, 2026, the scheme is open until August 31, 2026, for FCNR(B) deposits and till December 31, 2026, for ECBs and OFCBs.
As of August 21, 2026, the details of the forex inflows under this facility have been reported by authorized dealer banks. The RBI's Chief General Manager, Brij Raj, shared this information in a press release dated August 21, 2026 (Press Release: 2026-2027/948).
