Map of Haridwar and Rishikesh showing drive test routes

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the results of a drive test conducted in July 2026 to assess the quality of mobile network services across Haridwar and Rishikesh. The tests evaluated key Quality of Service parameters, such as signal strength, call setup success rate, drop call rate, and data throughput.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has published the findings of an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted during July 2026 in Haridwar and Rishikesh. The purpose of this assessment was to evaluate the real-time quality of mobile network services provided by various Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).

The tests were carried out through a designated agency under the supervision of TRAI's Regional Office in Bhopal. The drive test routes covered 292.3 KMs, seven hotspot locations, and 1.4 KMs during walk tests.

The performance of TSPs for key Quality of Service (QoS) parameters was assessed based on factors such as signal strength, call setup success rate, drop call rate, call silence rate, speech quality, download/upload throughput, latency, jitter, and packet drop rate.

The report provides an overview of the mobile network performance in Haridwar and Rishikesh city for these parameters. The findings reveal that during voice testing on the drive test route in auto-selection mode (5G/4G/3G/2G), the number of samples with poor signal strength out of the total samples collected was documented.

Additionally, the report highlights dropped calls and call silence instances, providing locations for these occurrences on a map. Data download and upload throughput performance is also discussed in the report.
