More details have emerged regarding the safety of Maharashtra residents stranded in Nepal after flash floods. 290 individuals are now confirmed safe, while 60 remain untraceable.
According to a recent report by a state government official, as many as 290 people from Maharashtra who were stranded in different parts of Nepal following the devastating flash floods have been confirmed safe. Of the original 395 residents known to be in Nepal during the disaster, 105 have already returned to India.
In addition, the state control room has successfully established contact with the remaining 290 stranded individuals who are currently safe but unable to leave their locations due to floods. However, 60 other tourists remain untraceable as they were part of a Nepal tour organized by Mumbai-based Richa Tours Pvt Ltd.
Separately, 37 Maharashtra pilgrims stranded in Tibet after completing the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra have left for Kathmandu this morning following intervention by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
