The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released lists of candidates who have qualified for various defense services courses based on the results of their Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2026 and subsequent interviews.

On November 2, 2026, the Press Information Bureau announced that the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released lists of candidates who have qualified for various defense services courses based on the results of their Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2026 and subsequent interviews. A total of 243 candidates have been shortlisted, with 155 candidates for the Indian Military Academy, 63 for the Indian Naval Academy, and 25 for the Air Force Academy. The list includes some common candidates across all three courses.

The number of vacancies, as intimated by the Government, is 100 for the Indian Military Academy (including 13 reserved for NCC 'C' Certificates holders), 26 for the Indian Naval Academy, and 32 for the Air Force Academy (with three reserved for NCC 'C' Certificate holders through NCC Special Entry).

The Commission had recommended 2601, 770, and 640 candidates as qualified in the written test for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy, respectively. However, the final list includes only those candidates who have passed the SSB tests conducted by Army Headquarters.

The results of Medical examination have not been taken into account in preparing these lists, and verification of date of birth and educational qualifications is still under process by the Army Headquarters. Therefore, the candidature of all these candidates is provisional until these verifications are complete. Candidates are required to submit their certificates in support of their claims to the Army Headquarters /Naval Headquarters /Air Headquarters as per their first choice.
