World Circular Economy Forum 2026 Begins in Gandhinagar with Over 2,000 Stakeholders

The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026 commences at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event runs for two days and features four plenary sessions, sixteen thematic sessions, an international expo, and accelerator sessions.

The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026 is underway at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This marks the first time the forum is held in South Asia.

The conference, jointly inaugurated by Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, is being conducted under the theme ‘Circular Economy: Transition for People and Prosperity’. Over 2,000 stakeholders from more than 65 countries are participating.

Across the two days, the forum will host 4 plenary sessions and 16 thematic sessions covering key areas such as the application of AI, green energy, sustainable finance, governance, and the start-up ecosystem. The event also features an international expo with over 125 exhibitors showcasing innovative circular business models.

The global event is jointly organised by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Central Pollution Control Board, Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, and the Government of Gujarat. Union Minister of State for Environment Kirti Vardhan Singh and Finland’s Environment Minister Sari Multala will grace the valedictory session on September 17th or 18th.

Additionally, 80 accelerator sessions will be hosted globally on September 17th and 18th following the valedictory session.
