Indian Defence Minister discusses changes in warfare and global security order; mentions Atmanirbhar Bharat vision.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has stated that India is carefully monitoring developments in its vicinity and worldwide, taking into account their strategic implications. This remark was made during the Exercise Tarang Shakti 2026 at Jodhpur Air Force Station. The Minister also highlighted the Indian Armed Forces' ongoing transformation in structure, capabilities, and strategic approach, driven by the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Mr Singh emphasized that Atmanirbhar Bharat does not imply isolation of India but rather focuses on bolstering domestic capabilities for designing, developing, manufacturing, maintaining, and upgrading critical defence technologies.
The Minister further noted the swift changes in the established world order and the uncertain nature of the emerging global order. He did not elaborate on specific developments or their impacts.
