The fifth iteration of the joint Military exercise, AUSTRAHIND 2026, between India and Australia, has commenced at Thiruvananthapuram. The location for this year's exercise marks a shift from the fourth edition held last year at Irwin Barracks, Perth, Australia. Our Akashvani correspondent reports that a total of 240 defense personnel are participating in the joint exercise. This exercise aims to further strengthen military-to-military cooperation, interoperability, and mutual trust between India and Australia. It will reinforce their shared commitment to peace, stability, and security in the Indo-Pacific region. For the first time, an observer delegation from New Zealand will also participate in the exercise. The joint exercise is scheduled to conclude on November 1st.
