India's Defence Secretary, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, will visit Cyprus and Greece from October 12 to 15, 2026. The primary themes of the visits will be maritime security and defence industrial cooperation.
On October 12-13, the Defence Secretary is set to meet his counterparts in the Cypriot Ministry of Defence and engage with the Cypriot leadership. This visit follows the President of Cyprus's trip to India in May 2026, which marked a strengthening of the India-Cyprus Strategic Partnership. The Defence Secretary's visit is expected to emphasize the shared intention to deepen and expand bilateral engagement, particularly in the maritime domain.
Following the discussions in Cyprus, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh will head to Greece for another round of meetings with senior defence and military leadership. This follows a February 2026 visit by the Greek Minister of National Defence who held talks with Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh, indicating a growing India-Greece partnership in the defence and strategic domains.
The visits assume added significance as India seeks to further strengthen its defence and strategic cooperation with partners in the European Union, following the signing of the landmark India-EU Security and Defence Partnership.
