The benchmark domestic equity indices, namely the Sensitive Index (Sensex) and the National Stock Exchange's Nifty, have recorded losses for a second consecutive day. The Sensex fell by 143 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 73,710.
The broader market on the National Stock Exchange also showed signs of struggle with the Midcap 100 index shedding 1.6 percent, and the Smallcap 100 index plunging 2.4 percent.
