In his address before the Monsoon Session of 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of productive discussions, highlighted a series of national and international achievements over the past month, including an Indian's journey to the International Space Station and Skyroot's successful private space startup launch. He also acknowledged global challenges but praised India's 7.7 percent growth rate as a testament to its resilience.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media on July 20, 2026, at the commencement of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. During his speech, he drew a parallel between natural weather patterns and legislative productivity, expressing hope for a productive session that benefits every citizen.

Highlighting a continuous series of extraordinary national and international achievements over the past month, Modi expressed immense pride in the country's rising global stature. Recalling how an Indian citizen reached the International Space Station just prior to last year's session, he celebrated the recent historical milestone by the private space startup Skyroot. The Prime Minister credited the government's policy changes for enabling these entrepreneurial triumphs, positioning them as deliberate indicators of the nation's boundless potential.

Modi also acknowledged global anxieties stemming from West Asian conflicts but praised India's 7.7 percent growth rate as a testament to its resilience. Tracing the root cause of these unprecedented entrepreneurial triumphs, he attributed them to the rapid and transformative policy changes.

Detailing a rapid succession of massive infrastructural and technological inaugurations, Modi cited the recent dedication of a major oil refinery in Rajasthan, the country's third semiconductor plant, and the launch of the world's longest and most powerful green hydrogen train. He emphasized that these highly advanced national assets strictly to the unified dedication and relentless hard work of the nation's brilliant scientists, engineers, and laborers.

Emphasizing the need for constructive discussions, Modi urged parliamentarians to prioritize patriotism and ensure respectful debates that strengthen India's development journey.
