
President Droupadi Murmu addresses India-Moldova Business Forum, emphasizing potential for collaboration in various sectors including digital technologies, renewable energy, and agriculture.
On July 20, 2026, President of India Smt Droupadi Murmu addressed the India–Moldova Business Forum in Chișinău alongside the President of Moldova, H E Maia Sandu. The partnership between the two countries, established since 1992, is based on mutual respect, democratic values, and a shared commitment to peace, development, and international cooperation.
In her speech, Murmu outlined India's fast-growing economy driven by entrepreneurship, digital transformation, manufacturing excellence, and a young, skilled workforce. She also highlighted Moldova's reform-oriented outlook, strategic location, talented human capital, and growing integration with European markets as an attractive destination for Indian businesses.
The President underlined the potential for collaboration across diverse sectors such as digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cyber-security, fin-tech, digital public infrastructure, infrastructure development, renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare. She mentioned that Indian companies are particularly interested in participating in Moldova's renewable energy sector projects, including solar energy, battery storage, smart grids, green hydrogen, and other clean technologies.
Murmu also invited Moldovan businesses to explore opportunities in India, assuring a transparent, predictable, and investor-friendly business environment. She expressed confidence that these interactions will lay the foundation for new partnerships and innovative collaborations.
Leading business representatives from both countries are participating in the forum, representing various sectors including agriculture and food processing, information technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, renewable energy, education, logistics, and digital technologies.
