President Droupadi Murmu, during her first-ever State Visit to Moldova, emphasized the need for increased economic collaboration between the two nations and highlighted several high-growth sectors with significant potential for cooperation.
During her visit to Chișinău, President Droupadi Murmu paid homage at the Monument of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt. The ceremony was attended by senior dignitaries from both countries and served as a symbol of the shared values of courage, sovereignty, and friendship between India and Moldova.
In her address at the India-Moldova Business Forum, President Murmu expressed her desire for deeper economic engagement between the two nations. She highlighted that there is immense potential for collaboration in various high-growth sectors such as digital technologies, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, fintech, renewable energy, agriculture, food processing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare.
Murmu reiterated India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties across political, economic, cultural, and people-to-people spheres. She pointed out Moldova's strategic location, skilled workforce, and growing integration with European markets as attractive for Indian businesses. The President also mentioned the ongoing partnership in the energy sector, particularly the high-voltage transmission line connecting Chișinău with Romania, which will increase Moldova’s energy resilience and regional connectivity.
Inviting Moldovan companies to explore trade and investment opportunities in India, Murmu also encouraged Indian businesses to invest in Moldova. She expressed optimism that the Business Forum would lead to new partnerships and innovative collaborations, setting the stage for a new chapter in the economic relationship between the two countries.
