Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav meets with Progressive Pensioners Association, resolves 25-year-old issue concerning DR and its delayed disbursement.
On Tuesday, a large delegation from the Progressive Pensioners Association of Shajapur district convened at Committee Room No. 1 in Madhya Pradesh Vidhansabha. The meeting was led by Shajapur MLA Shri Arun Bhimawad. The association thanked Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav for the State Government's several welfare decisions benefiting pensioners across Madhya Pradesh.
The delegation, in particular, expressed their gratitude to Dr. Yadav for resolving a long-standing issue that had delayed the disbursement of Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners. This issue originated following the bifurcation of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, which required mutual consent between the two state governments before either could extend DR after the Central Government announced Dearness Allowance (DA).
As a result of a recent consensus reached between the two state governments, both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will now independently announce and disburse DR to their respective pensioners without delay. This move is expected to eliminate the prolonged waiting period faced by pensioners for decades.
The delegation appreciated Dr. Yadav's efforts in resolving this issue, ensuring timely disbursement of DR to Madhya Pradesh's pensioners.
