In a high-level meeting on July 22, 2026, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for citizen welfare, dynamic governance, and integrated approaches to achieve the goals set by 'Viksit Bharat'.

On July 22, 2026, Prime Minister chaired a high-level meeting at his residence to review progress towards 'Viksit Bharat' goals in sectors such as rural development, agriculture, social welfare, and allied sectors. The Prime Minister stressed that the welfare of citizens should be prioritized and reforms should be designed to meet people's needs effectively. He also highlighted the importance of adapting governance systems to a dynamic and evolving environment. To achieve this, he suggested undertaking a comprehensive mapping of emerging requirements across various Ministries and Departments. The Prime Minister emphasized the need for a whole-of-government approach and encouraged inter-departmental coordination, especially in youth-centric initiatives. He specifically addressed issues such as drug abuse among youth and the need for an institutional mechanism to tackle it. In the agricultural sector, he highlighted the success of initiatives like PM KUSUM Scheme and stressed the importance of global mapping of skill requirements for future alignment with international opportunities. The meeting was attended by the Cabinet Secretary, Secretaries of key Ministries, and senior officials from the Prime Minister's Office.
