
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) organized a technology transfer event on July 23, 2026, where four indigenous technologies were transferred to industry. The event also saw the commercial launch of an IoT-enabled rural water service delivery system. Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General of CSIR, emphasized the importance of technology commercialization for society.
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) recently organized a Technology Transfer Event at its headquarters in New Delhi. The event, organized by CSIR-Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO), Chandigarh, brought together scientists, industry partners, technology adopters, and strategic stakeholders.
Four indigenous technologies were transferred to industry during the event. These include the Induction Motor Stethoscope (MSCOPE), Portable & Universal Motor-cum-Pump Performance Monitor (PU-MPPM) and i-Power Quality Analyser (IPQA), which were licensed to M/s Pump Academy Private Limited, Bengaluru. The Optical Module and Beam Combiner Assembly for Head-Up Display (HUD) for SU-30 aircraft programs was transferred to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Panchkula.
Additionally, the event marked the commercial launch of an Affordable IoT-enabled Water Service Delivery, Measurement and Monitoring Sensing System for Rural Deployment by M/s Biometry Technologies Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi. This system enables advanced monitoring of water quality, quantity, and service delivery in rural areas.
Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, CSIR & Secretary, DSIR, attended the event and emphasized the importance of technology commercialization for society. She appreciated the efforts of CSIR-CSIO under the leadership of Prof. Shantanu Bhattacharya in accelerating technology development, increasing external cash flow (ECF), expanding industry partnerships and enhancing technology transfer.
Prof. Bhattacharya highlighted that CSIR-CSIO received ₹1.67 crore as royalty from BEL, Panchkula during FY 2025-26 for licensed production of indigenous military avionics technologies.
