
Bihar Chief Minister announces the establishment of a permanent campus for NSTI (W), Patna and Skill India International Centre, preparing Bihar's youth for global careers.
In a significant move towards women's skill development and global employment opportunities, Bihar’s Chief Minister, Shri Samrat Choudhary, along with Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India, Shri Jayant Chaudhary, today announced the establishment of the permanent campus of NSTI (Women), Patna and Skill India International, Patna.
The foundation stone for the permanent campus of NSTI (W), Patna was laid at a project site by Dilip Kumar, Director General, Directorate General of Training (DGT). On the occasion, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, and the Government of Bihar also exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of a Skill India International Centre (SIIC) in Bihar.
The permanent campus of NSTI (W), Patna will be developed at Bihta with an investment of ₹99.97 crore and will include a modern Administrative Block, Academic Block, and Girls’ Hostel. The SIIC, supported by a capital investment of approximately ₹7 crore from the Government of India, will prepare Bihar's youth for global careers through foreign-language training, international employment counselling, certification guidance, pre-departure orientation, and safe-migration support.
The NSTI (W), Patna is the only Central Government skill training institute exclusively for women in Bihar. The institute was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, and has been operating from a temporary campus. It offers long-term training under the Craft Instructor Training Scheme (CITS) and Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS).
The institute from its temporary campus has offered training in Electronics Mechanic, Fashion Design and Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cosmetology, among others. It has also trained women under initiatives including PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, NIESBUD-led programmes, DGR-EDP, STRIVE and other skill development programmes.
Once operational, the permanent campus will serve as a premier centre for women’s skill development in Bihar and neighbouring States. It will offer modern laboratories, improved residential facilities and industry-aligned training to prepare women for employment, entrepreneurship, and emerging opportunities in a rapidly changing economy.
