The main accused in a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) paper leak case was arrested in Bihar, revealing financial connections with printing press employees and the method of smuggling leaked question papers.
In a significant development, the main accused in the Maharashtra TET paper leak case, Bijendra Kumar Gupta, along with his associate Indrajeet Vinaykumar Singh, were arrested in Samastipur, Bihar. They have been remanded to police custody till July 30 by a Bhiwandi court, as stated by Deputy Commissioner of Police Pawan Bansode.
Police investigations revealed that Gupta had financial connections with employees at the Mahim Pratran printing press in Agra. Alongside his associate Sonu, he allegedly purchased leaked question papers for 8,000 rupees from these employees, offering them cash and promises of property.
The leaked papers were concealed inside shoes and transported out of the printing press, according to the police. The accused intended to sell these papers in Pune and Bhiwandi for an estimated 1.5 crore rupees. Investigators are now probing who purchased the leaked papers, how many copies were sold, and where they were distributed.
