The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has published the results of a quality assessment drive test conducted across Haridwar and Rishikesh cities. The tests were designed to measure the performance of various telecom service providers (TSPs) in terms of signal strength, call quality, download/upload throughput, and more.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released findings from an Independent Drive Test (IDT) conducted in Haridwar and Rishikesh cities under UPW LSA during July 2026. The purpose of this drive test was to evaluate the real-time quality of mobile network services provided by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).
The tests, supervised by the TRAI Regional Office Bhopal, covered a city drive spanning 292.3 KMs, seven hotspot locations, and one walk test totaling 1.4 KMs.
Key parameters assessed during the tests included percentage of samples with poor signal strength, call setup success rate, drop call rate, call silence rate, speech quality, download/upload throughput, latency, jitter, and packet drop rate.
The report provides an overview of the mobile network performance in Haridwar and Rishikesh city for these key parameters. The signal strength observed during voice testing on the drive test route in auto-selection mode was provided, along with details of coverage gaps and dropped call locations.
