Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conducted a review of the flood situation in Rewa on Sunday evening. He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla and Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Barnwal. The meeting focused on relief and rescue operations, as well as the operational efficiency of relief camps in flood-affected areas.
Dr. Yadav emphasized the importance of running special medical camps in all affected villages and urban wards. He stressed that immediate assistance should be provided to those who have lost food supplies, household belongings, or houses due to the floods, under RBC 6-4.
In areas where floodwater remains, relief camps are to be operated effectively with adequate food supplies, drinking water, and medical facilities. Special attention is to be paid to cleanliness and sanitation. In areas where the floodwater has receded, government teams should ensure easy access to food and drinking water for the affected population.
The Chief Minister also ordered that all water sources and hand pumps be chlorinated with bleaching powder and other appropriate measures to ensure the safety of drinking water. Special medical and treatment camps are to be organized in all flood-affected villages and urban wards.
Cases of fever, cold, and cough are to be treated seriously. Electricity supply in villages affected by heavy rainfall is to be restored immediately. Veterinary teams should also be deployed in flood-affected areas to treat animals, with proper disposal procedures for any animal deaths.
Dr. Yadav directed that adequate arrangements for food, water, and fodder be ensured for animals in gaushalas and other shelters. In case of crop damage, immediate surveys are to be conducted, and necessary assistance provided to farmers.
Officials from the Revenue, Panchayat and Rural Development, Health, Veterinary, and Agriculture departments have been deployed in affected areas. A special cleanliness drive is to be launched immediately in all urban local bodies and villages to prevent the spread of diseases.
The district administration has been instructed to provide all possible assistance to affected people with sensitivity, alertness, and promptness.
