The Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh reveals the progress and findings of the ongoing SIR, including the number of deceased, shifted, and duplicate voters.

In a press release on Thursday, Andhra Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer Vivek Yadav reported that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has uncovered 15.22 lakh deceased electors, 14.43 lakh voters who have permanently moved to different constituencies, and 7.37 lakh instances of duplicate enrolments. The press release also mentioned that enumeration forms have been received from 3.71 crore electors, which corresponds to 89.22 per cent of the state's total electorate of 4.16 crore.

Mr Yadav stated that house-to-house verification by Booth Level Officers has now been completed for all electors. He also revealed that detailed lists of 44.89 lakh electors whose enumeration forms are still pending will be shared with recognised political parties and made accessible on the Chief Electoral Officer's website.

The draft electoral roll is scheduled to be published on July 31, and the public can submit claims, objections, or corrections for additions, deletions, or modifications to the draft electoral rolls from July 31 until August 30. The press release also emphasized that this process aims to ensure the accuracy of the electoral roll and prevent potential voter fraud.
