India's Defence Secretary, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, is scheduled to visit Cyprus and Greece from October 12 to 15, 2026. The discussions will primarily focus on maritime security and defence industrial cooperation.
During his stay in Cyprus on October 12-13, Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh will meet his counterparts in the Cypriot Ministry of Defence and also engage with the Cypriot leadership. The visit is a follow-up to the May 2026 trip of the President of Cyprus to India, which marked a significant boost for the India-Cyprus Strategic Partnership. The Defence Secretary's visit aims to reinforce the shared commitment to deepening and expanding bilateral engagement, particularly in the maritime domain.
In the second part of his visit, Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh will interact with senior defence and military leadership in Greece. The Greek Minister of National Defence visited India in February 2026 for talks with Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh. These high-level exchanges highlight the growing India-Greece partnership in the defence and strategic domains.
The visit assumes added significance as India seeks to further strengthen its defence and strategic cooperation with partners in the European Union, following the signing of the landmark India-EU Security and Defence Partnership.
