Delhi Police conducted a special drive to identify and verify illegal foreign nationals residing in Dwarka District, resulting in the detainment of 40 individuals.
The Delhi Police initiated a district-wide special drive against illegal and overstaying foreign nationals within their jurisdiction of Dwarka District. The objective was to identify such individuals, verify their immigration status, trace persons involved in criminal activities, and initiate appropriate legal action in coordination with the concerned authorities. A total of 25 teams comprising 150 police personnel were deployed at a total of 43 locations and hideouts. During the drive, 40 foreign nationals were detained and verified, including 30 males and 10 females. Of the total verified foreign nationals, 31 were Nigerian, 4 were Ugandan, 3 were Tanzanian and 2 were Ivorian nationals. Ten of these individuals have been taken up for deportation proceedings.
