The West Bengal government is maintaining regular contact with Nepalese authorities and Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, and has launched a helpline to assist in tracing 36 missing residents following a recent flash flood.
In response to the flash flood that occurred in Nepal, the West Bengal government is actively coordinating with both Nepalese authorities and the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu to locate residents from the state who are currently missing. This cooperation includes regular contact and ongoing discussions between the involved parties.
As part of these efforts, a team of state government officials is expected to be sent to the affected area today to evaluate the situation and provide assistance. In addition, Kolkata Police has initiated a toll-free helpline (1800-345-5678) to offer support and distribute information related to the incident.
At present, 36 individuals from Kolkata and various regions within West Bengal have been reported missing as a result of this tragic flood.
