Heavy rainfall has led to flood conditions in various districts of Madhya Pradesh, with the Meteorological Department issuing a warning for more heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next two days. The Weather Department has also issued an orange alert for several districts.
The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall in multiple districts across Madhya Pradesh over the following 48 hours, as a result of continuous downpours. In Chitrakoot, the Mandakini River has nearly reached the danger mark, leading to the relocation of approximately 100 residents to safer locations. Similarly, the water level of the Narmada River in Mandla has increased significantly, causing the river to overflow. These rain-induced flood conditions have disrupted normal life in several districts, including Chhatarpur, Satna, Mandla, and Maihar.
Additionally, five gates of the Bargi Dam in Jabalpur have been opened to release water, while water is also being released from the Kutni Dam in Chhatarpur. The Weather Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall in several districts, including Shivpuri, Guna, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Damoh, and Narmadapuram.
The heavy rain is expected to continue in various parts of the state over the next two days.
