During a Navratri celebration organized by Bhopal Gujarati Samaj, Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel addressed members of the Gujarati community. The event took place on Sunday and included the Ashtami celebrations with an aarti of Adi Shakti performed by the Governor. Young girls who participated in the nine-day festivities in traditional Gujarati attire were felicitated.
The Governor emphasized the importance of combating addiction, a point of focus during the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's birthday celebration campaign, Seva Sankalp, held from September 17 to October 17. He urged people to pledge their commitment to building an addiction-free society.
Governor Shri Patel appreciated the Gujarati community's efforts towards environmental conservation, cleanliness, adherence to traffic rules, and preservation of Gujarati culture. Mayor Smt. Malti Rai was also present during the occasion and praised the Gujarati community's initiatives.
The Governor also stated that harmful tendencies are the demons of modern times, comparing them to the evils Lord Ram defeated on Vijayadashami after the nine days of Navratri. He added that wherever the Gujarati community settles, Navratri is celebrated with great fervor.
Mayor Smt. Malti Rai appreciated the Gujarati community's efforts towards building an ideal society, maintaining cleanliness, protecting the environment, and ensuring compliance with traffic rules. She highlighted that if all communities in Bhopal took similar initiatives, the city would become even more beautiful and vibrant.
Gujarati Samaj President Shri Sanjay Patel welcomed the Governor by presenting him with a memento.
