Amit Shah, Home Minister, discusses BJP's pledge to implement the Uniform Civil Code in Uttar Pradesh, accuses the Samajwadi Party of past transgressions, and highlights the state's emergence as an investment hub.
During a BJP State Working Committee meeting chaired by Pankaj Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Finance, in Lucknow, Home Minister Amit Shah asserted his party's intention to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttar Pradesh. He expressed confidence that the BJP would regain power in the state following assembly elections scheduled for next year, stating that the BJP government is as stable as Angad’s foot and resistant to removal.
Shah credited party workers for securing victories in the 2017 and 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He urged party members to maintain a high level of commitment towards achieving another clear majority victory.
Addressing the gathering, Shah referenced past incidents, accusing the Samajwadi Party of ordering indiscriminate firing on Ram devotees and BJP workers during the 1990 Ayodhya incident. He predicted that the Samajwadi Party would remain out of power in Uttar Pradesh for 30 years.
The Home Minister also praised Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's contributions to the state, highlighting that Uttar Pradesh has developed into an investment hub. He stated that investments worth over 50 lakh crore rupees have been attracted due to improvements in law and order within the state, which in turn created employment opportunities and helped reduce migration from the region.
