India won a rain-affected T20 International against hosts Japan by just two runs, securing their 200th win in the format.
In a closely contested match at the Sano International Cricket Ground today, India managed to narrowly avoid an historic upset over Japan. The visitors secured a victory by two runs in a five-overs-a-side one-off T20 International.
India's 200th win in T20 Internationals, including Super Over wins, was achieved despite the hosts' impressive performance. After a nearly 2.5-hour delay due to a wet outfield, India Captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first.
However, Japan's spinners made the most of the conditions, restricting the visitors to 32 for 4 after five overs. The hosts responded strongly while chasing 33 off 30 balls, coming close to one of the biggest upsets in their cricketing history.
