Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh addresses a Defence Conclave, highlighting India's commitment to peace, national unity, and self-reliance in defence. He also outlines India's growing role as a trusted partner in the Global South.
Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized India's peaceful approach but warned against mistaking it for weakness during a Defence Conclave in New Delhi on September 27, 2026. He reiterated that there can be no dialogue with countries promoting terrorism against India and stressed the importance of national unity as a key pillar of national security.
Shri Rajnath Singh described India as a civilizational power with an approach based on inclusive development, 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (the world is a family), and 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' (together with all, development for all). He outlined three foundations of India’s approach: its long democratic and civilizational traditions, the principle of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', and the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, and five strategic pillars—respect, dialogue, prosperity, security, and culture.
Raksha Mantri focused on India’s growing role as a trusted partner and 'Vishwa Bandhu' (world friend) in the Global South. He highlighted India’s efforts through Vaccine Maitri, providing more than 30 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses to over 100 countries, and initiatives such as the Voice of Global South Summits to advance the interests of developing nations.
In terms of self-reliance in defence, Shri Rajnath Singh noted significant progress towards indigenous capabilities, ranging from aircraft and drone engines to fifth- and sixth-generation fighter jets. India’s defence exports have grown from just ₹686 crore in 2013–14 to a record ₹38,424 crore in 2025–26, reaching more than 100 countries.
He emphasized that growing international demand for Indian missiles, radars, ammunition, and defence platforms reflects global confidence in India’s technology, quality, and delivery capabilities.
