In the 37th International Biology Olympiad held in Vilnius, Lithuania, all four Indian team members secured medals, with one gold. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, praised their knowledge in various subjects.
On July 19, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to X to express his congratulations to the Indian team for their remarkable performance at the 37th International Biology Olympiad held in Vilnius, Lithuania. The team comprised of Bhavyaa Gunwal, Soumil Maity, Nishit Kalani and Anmol Kumar who secured one gold, three silver and two bronze medals respectively. In his post, the Prime Minister emphasized that the team members have demonstrated exceptional knowledge in subjects such as Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Animal Physiology, Animal Morphology, Systematics, and Plant Computational Biology.
In his tweet accompanying the post, Modi stated that he is certain this success will inspire more youngsters.
