India's boxing campaign has made a promising start at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland. Star pugilist Lovlina Borgohain secured at least a bronze medal after receiving a direct entry into the women’s 75-kilogram semi-finals.
In a separate development, Jadumani Singh advanced to the men’s 55-kilogram round of 16 with a convincing opening-round victory. This progression joins Borgohain in moving forward through the competition.
India's lawn bowls teams also enjoyed a strong start. The women’s pairs team of Rupa Rani Tirkey and Pinki Singh registered their second straight win, defeating South Africa to move to the top of the Group B standings.
