
During her state visit to Romania, President Smt Droupadi Murmu addressed the Indian community, acknowledging their significant contributions to Romania's development and their role as cultural ambassadors.
On the concluding day (July 25, 2026) of her state visit to Romania, President Smt Droupadi Murmu addressed an enthusiastic gathering of the Indian community at a reception hosted by the Ambassador of India to Romania. Alongside Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution Smt Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya and Members of Parliament Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Shri Vijay Baghel, the President emphasized that even though Indian professionals and companies live far from India, they remain deeply connected to their motherland. She was pleased to note that these individuals are making significant contributions to Romania's development while also creating opportunities for cooperation between the two countries. The President attributed the strong bond between India and Romania to the close relationship between their peoples. She recognized that the Indian diaspora, who keep India's rich cultural heritage alive in Romania, includes a new generation of IT engineers, scholars, researchers, healthcare professionals, and students. The President acknowledged the Indian community's contributions to Romania's economy and society, as well as their efforts to promote Indian culture and values. Addressing 'Friends of India', she urged them to continue being active partners in India's developmental journey, as their experience, expertise, and achievements will contribute to the progress of India.
