Security forces discovered a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives during a joint operation in the Bhejji police station area of Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, based on information provided by surrendered Maoists.
On the basis of intelligence gathered from surrendered Maoist rebels, a combined search operation was carried out yesterday by the District Force, District Reserve Guard, and Bastar Fighters in the forest and hilly areas of Bhandarpadar and Munurkonda within Sukma district. During this operation, 23 weapons were uncovered, including SLRs, rifles, BGL launchers, and muzzle-loading guns.
Besides these arms, the seized items encompassed 492 live rounds of various calibres, 240 gelatin sticks, 18 kilograms of gunpowder, five country-made hand grenades, and a substantial amount of BGL cells. The police have indicated that further search operations to locate more Maoist hideouts and dumps in the area will be conducted.
