Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav extended greetings to the citizens of his state on National Space Day (August 23). In his address, he emphasized the ongoing efforts to promote and popularize science across Madhya Pradesh.
As part of these endeavors, the state has launched a Space Policy and initiated steps towards establishing a Science City and Planetarium. The Chief Minister also highlighted various activities being conducted throughout the state to ensure that the benefits of space technology and scientific advancements reach the people.
The Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (MAPCAST) has been instrumental in engaging students with science through a variety of activities.
Dr. Yadav praised India’s growing global standing and prestige under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, while also noting the state's progress in tandem with the country.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the Central Government's support in connecting students and citizens with science. He pointed to a recently inaugurated Space Gallery at the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal, as an example of this collaboration.
Dr. Yadav appreciated MAPCAST for organizing a State-Level Satellite Model-Making Workshop in collaboration with ISRO on August 22, the day before National Space Day. Participants include students and teachers from over 32 universities, colleges, and scientific institutions across Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister expressed his hope for increasing awareness among youth and citizens about space science, technology, and research.
