Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav directs the Home Department to expedite the recruitment process of 18,000 vacant posts in Madhya Pradesh Police, starting with the approval of 9,662 posts across various categories.

In a significant step towards strengthening the Madhya Pradesh Police force, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed the Home Department to expedite the recruitment process for 18,000 vacant posts in the State Police. The first phase of this initiative saw the approval of 9,662 posts across various categories on a single day.

During a meeting with senior officials at the Police Headquarters three days ago, Dr. Yadav expressed satisfaction over the recent promotion of nearly 25,000 police officers and personnel under the State Government's promotion drive. He instructed that both recruitment and promotions should continue in the coming months.

In compliance with these directions, the Home Department has issued four administrative approval orders for direct recruitment to various third-class (non-gazetted) posts in different units of the Madhya Pradesh Police during 2026. Under the first order, approval was granted for 655 posts, including 135 Subedar (Ministerial)/Stenographer posts and 520 Assistant Sub-Inspector (Ministerial) posts. The second order approves 507 posts, comprising 81 Subedars, 312 Sub-Inspectors (District Police Force), 69 Sub-Inspectors (Special Armed Force), 4 Sub-Inspectors (Questioned Documents), 22 Sub-Inspectors (Fingerprint), 10 Sub-Inspectors (Armoury) and 9 Sub-Inspectors (Photography). The State Government has approved the highest number of posts for the direct recruitment of Constables (General Duty), with 7,500 posts sanctioned under a separate order. In another order, the Home Department granted administrative approval for the direct recruitment of 1,000 Constable (Driver) posts.

The Chief Minister has also directed that the promotion process continue regularly and that orders to promote the remaining eligible officers and personnel be issued in a phased manner in September.
