The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board has utilized income from an Orphanage property to provide education support for 289 orphaned and underprivileged children from the Muslim community.
The Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, has approved over ₹21 lakh to support the education of 289 orphaned and needy children from the Muslim community residing in Bhopal. This initiative will directly pay school fees of up to ₹10,000 for each selected child, ensuring continuity in their education.
The assistance will be disbursed during a programme on Tuesday, October 13, at the Yateemkhana Ground on the premises of the Waqf Board office. The income used for this purpose comes from the Orphanage (Yateemkhana) property, and is being utilized in accordance with the original intent of the donor (waqif) to support the welfare and education of orphaned children.
Applications were invited through advertisements in leading newspapers, and 289 students were found eligible after detailed scrutiny and transparent verification. Madhya Pradesh Waqf Board Chairman Dr. Sanwar Patel stated that an intensive campaign has been initiated following the implementation of new Waqf amendment provisions to remove illegal encroachments from Waqf properties, allowing for the legitimate income generated to fund the education of needy children.
The programme is described as a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, demonstrating how effectively managed community assets can contribute to educational advancement and social welfare.
