The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs participates in the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026, with a focus on cleanliness drives, awareness activities, and plantation initiatives for a fortnight. The campaign aims to reinforce the spirit of cleanliness, hygiene, civic responsibility, and citizen participation towards realizing the vision of a Clean India Mission.
On September 17, 2026, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) took part in the countrywide launch of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign 2026. This initiative, spanning from September 18 to October 1, 2026, is being observed by every department and ministry under the Government of India. The campaign aims to reinforce the spirit of cleanliness, hygiene, civic responsibility, and citizen participation towards realizing the vision of a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission).
To inaugurate the event, MoPA Secretary, Shri Nikunj Bihari Dhal led Ministry officials in taking the cleanliness pledge. In his opening remarks, he emphasized that cleanliness and hygiene should be regarded as a continuous, year-round responsibility rather than just a campaign-bound activity.
As part of the campaign, MoPA has planned various activities to promote sustained awareness about cleanliness and hygiene. These activities include cleanliness drives in office premises/corridors, awareness and sensitization activities for school students, felicitation of Safai Mitra, awareness campaigns through social media platforms, and plantation activities under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' (A tree in Mother's name).
In addition to these activities, the Ministry will also participate in the nationwide Shramdaan initiative under the call ‘Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ in October 2026. This further underscores the message that cleanliness is a shared responsibility requiring collective action.
Through these initiatives, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs reaffirms its commitment to the objectives of the Clean India Mission and promoting a sustained culture of cleanliness, hygiene, environmental responsibility, and dignity of labor.
