The Prime Minister's Virtual Interaction Programme, organized by MY Bharat Goa and NSS Goa State, will take place at four educational institutions across Goa on August 27. The programme aims to encourage youth participation in sports and promote healthy lifestyles.
On August 27, youth and students across Goa will have an opportunity to participate in a virtual interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the activities leading up to National Sports Day. MY Bharat Goa, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, is organising this programme in collaboration with NSS Goa State. The programme will take place at four educational institutions across the state: St Xavier’s College, Mapusa, in North Goa, Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim, also in North Goa, Rosary College of Arts and Commerce, Navelim, in South Goa, and Shri Gopal Gaonkar Memorial Goa Multi-Faculty College, which will host the programme in South Goa. Students, NSS volunteers, and youth from the identified institutions will participate in the programme. National-level sportspersons will also be part of the interaction to inspire young participants. The programme aims to encourage greater participation of young people in sports and promote physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, discipline, and an active way of life. It is being organised in the run-up to National Sports Day, observed annually on August 29 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, one of India’s legendary hockey players.
