On August 27, 2026, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared insights from Khelo India Dialogue. In his address, he warmly congratulated the organizers, Union Cabinet members, Chief Ministers, and lakhs of My Bharat volunteers for orchestrating such a magnificent event. As National Sports Day approaches on August 29, he extended his advance wishes to the youth and the entire sporting community across the nation. The Prime Minister also reminded that this day is dedicated to a great child of Mother India, Major Dhyan Chand ji.
In a Twitter post, the Prime Minister shared some facts about India's Olympic journey, stating that now is the time to keep the focus on excellence. He further asked if one has not been seeing a change in attitude when it comes to sports.
