India's Tanvi Sharma, aged 17, clinched the Taipei Open Super women’s singles title and became the youngest champion in the tournament's history.
Tanvi Sharma, a 17-year old Indian badminton player, secured her maiden BWF World Tour title today by defeating Vietnam's 6th-seeded Nguyen Thuy Linh in the Taipei Open Super women’s singles final. The match ended with scores of 21-16, 21-16. With this victory, Tanvi not only clinched her first international title but also broke the record for being the youngest champion of the Taipei Open. Taiwan's Tai Tzu Ying previously held that title. Moreover, she is the first Indian woman to win the Taipei Open since Saina Nehwal in 2008.
Tanvi's impressive performance adds to India's growing reputation in international badminton, providing hope for future generations of players.
