The Union Ministry of Communications and the Government of Madhya Pradesh convened an Investors’ Roundtable to attract investments for a telecom manufacturing zone in Gwalior.

In a significant step towards self-reliance in telecom equipment production, the Union Ministry of Communications and the Government of Madhya Pradesh hosted an Investors’ Roundtable in Bengaluru. The event aimed to attract domestic and global investments for the upcoming Telecom Manufacturing Zone (TMZ) in Gwalior.

Union Minister of Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia stated that leading telecom, electronics, and technology companies have expressed interest in setting up manufacturing bases in Gwalior. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission to transform India into a global product and manufacturing leader under the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision.

Scindia further emphasized that the partnership with the private sector is crucial to transition India from a services-led economy to a product manufacturing powerhouse, fostering domestic innovation, research and development, and large-scale telecom production.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav described the Gwalior TMZ as a pioneering model designed to boost regional industrial growth. He highlighted the state’s competitive advantages, such as affordable land, 24-hour power supply, abundant land bank, and superior multimodal connectivity to the National Capital Region. Dr. Yadav reiterated that the initiative would create massive employment opportunities for skilled youth and establish Madhya Pradesh as a premier high-tech industrial hub.
