Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the renovated Guna Head Post Office in Madhya Pradesh, aiming to provide more efficient postal and financial services to citizens.

On 17th September 2026, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Hon’ble Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, inaugurated the renovated Guna Head Post Office in Madhya Pradesh.

The renovation cost approximately INR [amount redacted] and was executed according to the design guidelines of the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi, as part of the Department of Posts’ initiative for modernising post offices across the country.

The upgraded Guna Head Post Office now offers a more modern and improved environment for citizens accessing postal and financial services. The objective is to make services more convenient, accessible, and customer-friendly while enhancing user experience.

Servicing a large district population, the renovated head post office will continue to deliver reliable, accessible, and citizen-centric postal and financial services.

During the programme, Scindia commended the Department of Posts' regional services and initiatives towards modernising the postal network. He emphasized that modernised post offices would invigorate postal services and improve service quality.

Scindia also highlighted a well-organised token system at the renovated post office, enabling orderly service provision without crowded queues. A digital display screen was installed to provide service timeline information, such as issuing duplicate passbooks within one day.

The Minister also underscored the digital transformation of postal services, stating that the expansion of digital technology reduces the need for citizens to visit post offices frequently for several services. Citizens can now access postal services via apps from home, making them more accessible, faster, and citizen-centric.

The inauguration of the renovated Guna Head Post Office represents another step towards the Department of Posts’ broader efforts in modernising postal infrastructure, expanding services, strengthening digital delivery and enhancing the capabilities of its workforce.
