The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) is focusing on minimising pendency, promoting cleanliness, and strengthening e-waste management during a special campaign from October 2-31, 2026.
The Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL), under the Union Ministry of Education, has launched Special Campaign 6 from October 2 to 31, 2026. The primary focus is on improving administrative efficiency, promoting cleanliness across school campuses, and strengthening responsible electronic waste (e-waste) management. This campaign also encourages school students and communities to adopt sustainable practices.
Under the Special Campaign 6, efforts are being made to minimise pendency in official work by reviewing files across various categories, digitising records, weeding out obsolete files, and strengthening record management practices. The aim is to streamline administrative processes, optimise office space usage, and promote efficient functioning.
Cleanliness drives spearheaded by Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE are being undertaken in schools across the country to maintain clean and hygienic campuses. This aims to strengthen a culture of cleanliness among students and school staff and create healthier learning environments.
As part of Special Campaign 6, e-waste awareness and collection drives are being conducted in schools nationwide under Eco Clubs for Mission LiFE. The objective is to sensitise students and teachers about the importance of responsible e-waste management and encourage them to reduce electronic waste and dispose of discarded equipment through authorized channels.
To mark International e-waste Day on October 14, 2026, DoSEL installed a creative e-waste mural and e-waste bins at Kartavya Bhavan 2. The mural is made from 50 kg of e-waste collected by school students and promotes the message of ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’. The bins provide a designated facility for collecting discarded electronic items and reinforce the importance of appropriate e-waste management in institutional settings.
