The Bihar government has constituted a five-member special committee, headed by either a retired Supreme Court or High Court judge, to bring reforms in the state's examination system. The committee is expected to submit its recommendations within three months.

The Bihar government has established a five-member special committee tasked with implementing extensive reforms in the state's examination system. The committee will be led by a retired Supreme Court or High Court judge and is expected to present its suggestions to the state government within a stipulated three-month period. The committee's mandate includes secondary and higher secondary, university, professional and technical, entrance and eligibility, as well as recruitment and competitive examinations. Its primary objectives involve addressing issues such as question paper leaks, cheating, malpractice at examination centres, tampering with answer sheets, and unauthorized interference in results. The committee will also aim to make the examination calendar, question paper security, evaluation, and result declaration more transparent and time-bound.

Furthermore, the committee has been tasked with examining the use of digital technology, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cybersecurity measures in examinations. Recommendations for strengthening biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, and secure tracking of question papers and answer sheets have also been included in its responsibilities.

Special consideration will be given to protecting the interests of students from rural areas, economically weaker sections, and those with limited access to digital facilities.
