Indore's first double-layer flyover

Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated a ₹175 crore double-layer flyover at Lav Kush Square, Indore, featuring advanced technology and engineering. The project includes a three-tier traffic management system.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav marked the inauguration of Madhya Pradesh's first double-layer flyover in Indore, signifying a major step forward for the State's infrastructure development. The project, built at Lav Kush Square, is an example of modern technology and advanced engineering, according to Dr. Yadav.

The ₹175-crore flyover will play a crucial role during Simhastha-2028, ensuring smooth traffic movement on the Indore–Ujjain route. It is expected to reduce travel time, save fuel, ease traffic congestion, and provide citizens with safer and more convenient transportation.

Dr. Yadav emphasized that the project's most distinctive feature is its three-tier traffic management system. The first level accommodates regular traffic at Lav Kush Square; the second level consists of the existing flyover and the Metro Rail corridor, while the third level comprises the new double-layer flyover. This integrated design will significantly reduce traffic pressure at the intersection and ensure uninterrupted vehicular movement.

Constructed by the Indore Development Authority, the project features two 400-tonne steel bow-string girders, each measuring 65 metres in length and 24 metres in width. The use of a total of 800 tonnes of structural steel makes this project one of the State’s most significant engineering achievements.

With the opening of one arm of the double-layer flyover, traffic from Aurobindo Hospital towards Bhanwarkuan/Ban Ganga (as applicable on the route) will commence. The second arm is in the final stages of construction and is expected to be opened soon.
