Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has extended his congratulations to Mr. Andy Burnham upon assuming office as the new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. In a statement, Shri Modi noted that India and the UK are bound by shared democratic values and enjoy wide-ranging cooperation across trade, investment, technology, defence, and people-to-people relations.
The Indian leader further emphasized that with the recent implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA), the bilateral partnership between India and the UK is expected to grow even stronger. He expressed his eagerness to work closely with Burnham to further develop the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and advance their shared Vision 2035.
