Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a state visit to Uzbekistan from 29–30 August, hold bilateral talks with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and attend the 26th SCO Summit in Kyrgyz Republic from 31 August to 1 September 2026.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will visit Uzbekistan on a bilateral visit from 29–30 August, marking his fourth occasion. The trip is at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan. During this visit, Prime Minister Modi and President Mirziyoyev will engage in delegation-level talks to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Uzbekistan. The discussions are expected to cover areas such as trade and investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy, education, and people-to-people cooperation. The leaders will also discuss advancing shared visions of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Uzbekistan-2030. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi is expected to pay tribute at the Shastri Memorial in Tashkent and the Mahatma Gandhi Centre at the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies.
From Tashkent, Prime Minister will travel to Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, at the invitation of President Sadyr Zhaparov. He will participate in the 26th SCO Summit from 31 August to 1 September 2026, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, to which India has been a full member since 2017. Prime Minister Modi will address the Summit, highlighting India’s priorities of Security, Connectivity, and Opportunity at the forum. He will also hold bilateral meetings with SCO leaders on the sidelines of the Summit and attend the Opening Ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.
