Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister, has announced a significant overhaul of the police department, focusing on promotions, recruitment, and various initiatives to improve law and order.

In addition to announcing the completion of a promotion drive for nearly 25,000 personnel across various ranks in the Madhya Pradesh Police Department, marking the largest-ever number of promotions in its history, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has ordered several initiatives to further strengthen the police force. During a meeting with senior police officers at the Police Headquarters, he emphasized the need for effective implementation of new criminal laws introduced by the Central Government across the State. Preparations for the upcoming festival season and Independence Day celebrations were also discussed to ensure robust law and order throughout Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Yadav directed officials to ensure that every district has its own police band by the next Republic Day, with most districts already having the required posts filled. He also called for special attention to recruit eligible youth from the State's three Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs)—Baiga, Sahariya, and Bharia—and suggested exploring recruitment opportunities in police and other public services for candidates from the six districts where these tribal communities predominantly reside.

To address drug-related issues, Chief Minister Yadav directed the continuous implementation of the anti-drug campaign across the State. He also instructed strict action to curb the illegal transportation of narcotic substances along Madhya Pradesh's inter-State borders and coordination with the Higher Education Department to intensify awareness campaigns in educational institutions.

Recognizing the growing need for professional security services due to industrial expansion, Chief Minister Yadav directed officials to facilitate the deployment of licensed security personnel through the State Industrial Security Force (SISF) for industries and other institutions. He also emphasized the need to anticipate future developmental and social challenges and ensure that senior officers proactively address emerging issues.
