Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announces various development initiatives for Jabalpur, including transforming the city into a Metropolitan City and establishing a Furniture Cluster.
In a significant move, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced on Saturday that Jabalpur would be transformed into a Metropolitan City within the next year. During an event at Geeta Bhavan, he directed the Commissioner, Collector, and other concerned officials to prepare a draft proposal for this ambitious project promptly. The Chief Minister emphasized service and good governance as the cornerstones of his Government's development vision in Jabalpur.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also announced the establishment of a Furniture Cluster in Jabalpur to promote the furniture industry and generate employment opportunities. In terms of medical education, he declared that the Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpu would be developed into a state-level premier medical institution similar to AIIMS.
To enhance tourism, a large zoological park will be developed near Madan Mahal Hill. Additionally, Sandipani Schools will be established in all Assembly constituencies of Jabalpur district. The Chief Minister dedicated five development projects worth approximately ₹397 crore aimed at making Jabalpur cleaner, more sustainable and better equipped with urban infrastructure.
Dr. Yadav inaugurated the AMRUT 1.0 Sewerage Project, developed at a cost of ₹362.31 crore, and dedicated three major Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) at Kathonda, Lalpur and Tevar. He also inaugurated a modern laundry facility for the Rajak community in the Civil Lines area, developed at a cost of ₹25 lakh, and dedicated a modern fish marketing centre in the Gurandi Bazaar area, built at a cost of ₹2.5 crore.
